This is a 2 year course, in which students will complete competencies in 13 core and elective units. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to be competent in delivering a basic instruction session for a sport. Work may be undertaken as part of a team or as an individual and would be performed under supervision or independently in a structured environment during school. Students will be required to actively participate and coach in a range of sporting contexts such as Basketball, Volleyball, Fitness, Fundamental Motor Skills and sports of their own choosing with both their peers as well as junior students. Students will undertake a number of theoretical units as well as completing in online modules. At the completion of this course students will receive certification in Sports Coaching as well as 1st aid; AIS recognised Officiating and Beginner Coaching Level 1. Individuals wishing to undertake this qualification should be current or past participants in the respective sports as part of this qualification.
